The Lyrics were written in 2015 about my father's demise and battle with dementia. IT IS NOT JUST A TRIBUTE TO DAD BUT TO ALL FAMILY'S THAT HAVE OR ARE ENDURING THE DEMISEOF A LOVED ONE.
This is about the slow painful demise of my Dad with side effects from dementia. Not just the memory-related effects that were ever present but the fact that the poor soul lay “locked” up under heavy sedation for 3 years trying to stay with those he loved,whilst slowly “eating himself to death. ” Palliative care as it is termed. My daughters and I watched him slowly slip away from us over the last few weeks. The staff brought Dad out of the sedation in his last hours I had the sad but good fortune to be able to talk to him on his death bed, Where he actually picked up his right arm with his left hand and looked at it and said to me I am sick aren”t I love. This is where the idea Scorpio rose comes from. Dad’s birthday was the 10-11-1923 (Scorpio) was his star sign. He also loved Roses. Henceforth the name of the song Scorpio Rose
