I play guitar, bass guitar, drums/percussion, ukulele, and mandolin (though I am currently teaching myself how to play the piano). I am influenced by bands: Rush (Coverium, you need to add them to "Favorite Artist" options!), The Beatles, The Who, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, Darwin Deez, Twenty One Pilots, Mutemath, among others. My favorite genre of music is classic rock. Oh, a story? Alright. Well, music has been my life since birth. My parents played the Beatles, I begged for a drum kit, and got a tiny First Act kit when I was four (I still have the tom and kick drum!). As a little rebel who went on all the drumming website without my parents permission, I discovered a video by a guy named Bobby Standridge of an animated drummer playing this weird song called YYZ. It was Neil Peart. I am now the only Rush fan in my family (so far). Over time, I asked for guitar lessons, went to a music school and played bass in a band for a few years (though I moved to drums in later bands). When I was younger my father took me and my friends to a ukulele festival shortly after I took interest in that. Then, after about once or twice I mentioned I thought the mandolin was a cool instrument, I got what is probably the best Hanukkah present I've ever received. Besides band class, I am currently not taking any music lessons, but instead trying to improve on my own. I usually make drum covers. I really haven't gotten too many lessons on the drums. Yeah, I've taken percussion lessons, learned how to do proper drum rolls, but the beats and fills are self-taught. Lastly, I love talking about gear. If you wanna chat about gear, I'm more than happy to!
Pronounced "zed," not "zee."
Also, yes I did throw my drumsticks and yes they did hit something.
