I appreciate the kind words. On this particular video, it took about two weeks (not including the time learning the parts). Partly because of my schedule. It took about 3 days to record. I record drum set for 2 or 3 tunes on one day, then marimba and vibes on another day (just for one song), then steel pan, hand percussion and other stuff I record at home whenever I get a chance. It took about a week and a half in post partly due to trying to make decisions on visual elements, effects, cuts, what to show/what to leave out, etc. Some of my other videos took me only a week to do. It all depends on my schedule. I teach at a college and do frequent music gigs as well. I usually practice a little each day on the upcoming 3 or 4 tunes so that when I record, I do fewer takes and get done faster. The longest part of the process is actually editing the footage and mixing the audio mix. Thanks for watching!!
The filming and editing can sometimes get done in a week if I work every day. But that is after I have practiced and learned the parts. Often I read notation so I don't have to memorize it. It takes longer if I have to memorize parts.
