The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3 - 3 Chair Turner - Coach Lea Solonga Aloha, My name is Yssa Marie Paragua West, I am 11 years old African American/Filipino mix, and I live on the Island of Oahu, Honolulu Hawaii. I am the youngest of my siblings, and was born in South Korea while my father was still in the military. We moved to Hawaii in 2010 when I was 4 years old after he retired. I am a student of Holomua Elementary school in the 6th grade. In 2014 I joined Nix Performing Arts Center (NIXPAC) and started formal vocal lessons. Last year I represented NIXPAC and won the "Diamond" in the Regional Spotlight Vocal Competition, I performed the "Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston youtu.be/ZdB3MMIgLBE I was invited to compete in Las Vegas at the National Spotlight Vocal Competition, I came in "Ruby" second place, and I was the youngest at 9 years old competing against 13-18 year old. My song for the competition was "The Voice Within" by Christina Aguilera youtu.be/mVFj_dIuPtk In April 2016, I was so fortunate to be selected to be in the Blind Auditions for "The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3" (TVK3), the song choice was "I Wanna Dance with Somebody by "Whitney Houston. I am a 3 chair turner, and I chose Ms. Lea Solonga for my coach for the show youtu.be/7jLUyh4ru2I The next phase of the show was the "Battle Rounds" In this phase 3 artists battle against each other and our coach only can select one. I also passed this phase of the show and moved on the next phase. The song choice was "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves youtu.be/p4xnMKjeKQM youtu.be/RumHLCcRzjg During the "Sing Off" portion of the show 3 artists are picked out of 8, unfortunately this is where my journey ended on the show, the song choice for me was "Try" by Pink youtu.be/qZZ5YFmDeLk While in the show, all the 3 chair turners were sponsored by H&M department store, making us all "H&M Kid Ambassadors Model". My family is very close and we support each other in everything we do. I love to go out to support our community with my family and friends by feeding the Homeless in our State. The most interesting this about me is that I have never cut my hair since birth, it all started as a Joke my dad made, he told me to never cut my hair and I never did... I love to do are share my vocal talent whenever I can, and try to bring smiles to everyone's faces.
