I'm a small time drummer in a town with a million houses and like 2 people. Walking around in it is so rare that when cars pass by, drivers and passengers in them can't help but to shout in either shock, enthusiasm or curiosity at the fact that I don't have a car attached to my bum. To stay in shape I either go to the gym, walk around this ghost town, or drum. So here I am.
Welcome to my drum cover channel! So I thought I might try out playing a song with these things. I heard a lot of mixed reviews about them but they do look really cool so I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. They do feel very different and for me, but it's just a matter of adjusting my playing style. I'm not an extremely heavy hitter so the adjustment wasn't too drastic. Most of the vids showing Firestix feature the awesome glow they produce, so I kinda wanted to focus on how they sound with just playing a song instead, focusing on playability rather than the visuals, and see how they hold up. I set up the lighting accordingly and as a result, it didn't catch a lot of the haunting blue glow but instead captured this crisp icy look to them. For this sound experiment I chose Infinite Dreams by Iron Maiden because, well, it's simply a kickass song and I've always wanted to drum to it. As it turns out, the lighting for the sticks was quite the perfect feel for this song. I do have a version of Infinite Dreams with the boring but trusty hickorys which I will be posting real soon so you can judge for yourself if there is indeed a difference in sound and if you like that one or this one better. Hope you will enjoy both versions and feel free to check out my other vids as well. Like and subscribe if you like what you see/hear and see you then. Thanx!!
