I am 24tye. I’m a performing artist and producer. Music and performance has been an essential part of my existence. Since I was a kid every sound I heard was music to me. I got a guitar when I was 15, and taught myself how to play, as we had no money for lessons. My voice became my main instrument and my poetry turned into songs, my guitar became a constant wave of progressions for my voice to surf over. Although, at the time I did not know what my plan was, I knew music was the only thing I could depend on. With a mother battling cancer, a father who didn’t want me to pursue music, and being the kid, that was bullied, and friendless. It was 99.9 percent impossible for me to even dream about being a successful artist, or “be something important”. But, all I needed was that 1 percent. I couldn’t let anything stop me.
At the age of 16, I moved out. I couldn’t play music or sing at home. So, I played anywhere I could. Outside of malls, at parks and eventually small venues. I made it in the local newspaper doing this. This was the start of my career. Which later in my journey turned into huge venues, cruise ships and even being one of the 5 winners of a nationwide theme song contest of a popular television series called, “Fosters”. I was alone, scared sometimes, and I’ve been through so much I could write a book about it. But I was determined, I couldn’t go back home. I couldn’t rely on anyone else. So, I began arranging and producing, and mixing my own music. I love making the music on stage as I would in my home studio. So, I bring all of the elements of my music productions to the stage with live instruments as well as synths and pads and other electronic instruments.
I have an eclectic taste for electronic music, hip hop, and soul music. I started a new launch for all of my social media including YouTube at the age of 24 to take my journey to new heights. I’m a dreamer, and a believer so dream big, live bigger is my motto. I thrive around passionate people and love building new connections! I now mentor other artists to do the same. To believe in themselves. I believe you can achieve any goal by taking action.1…2…3…go! Another one of my sayings. Sounds funny, but it’s the application behind the words that makes the difference.
Though there are only 24 hours in a day, the lives of all people flow through time. Regardless of how difficult one situation may be, how filled with grief or pain or fear, time still flows through all lives the same. I’m focused on cultivating my passions as an artist and perfecting my craft along the way, every 24 hours. Everyday. I will dictate my legacy. I am the 1 percent. I am 24Tye.
