Michael Xu was born on September 22, 1999 alongside his younger twin brother, Daniel. Growing up in the affluent suburbs of Los Angeles (Diamond Bar), he and his twin were constantly surrounded by talented and competitive young kids. The city of Diamond Bar was also predominantly Asian, thus many parents would push their kids over the boundaries, especially in the academic and the musical field. Taking piano classes at 7 years of age, playing basketball, taking "college-level" courses were all the norm. After 6 years of instruction, the pair of twins completed their piano career at age 14; receiving the "Certificate of Merit Advanced" MTAC award. Both brothers eventually joined boy scouts and earned the level of Star Scout before quitting in the beginning of freshmen year. Michael and Daniel were both in band playing percussion, frequently performing in the percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, Drumline Pit, orchestra, and others.
2016. Michael is now 16 years old, licensed, and an aspiring guitarist. Daniel is now 16 years old, not licensed, and an aspiring photographer. Despite junior year being quite challenging, both twins have found their passion in their respective hobbies.
