African Singer-Songwriter Sergio Philjus Adogoni, a.k.a. Sergio Snow, was born of a stylist father and a restorer mother on March 9, 1989, in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Eldest son among a family of three children, Sergio was just a child in the 4th grade in 1998 when his mother decided to put him into an altar group at their local church. He had been an altar boy, but he wasn’t interested in being an altar boy. His interest was, and remains, only in "the music" – starting with the songs that he heard that day in the choir and were so often repeated at the church rehearsal. That was the moment he started singing for the first time in his life.
He wasn’t really good at singing at that time, but with time he became great. He enjoyed the music. But two months later, he had to resign from the altar group because his teacher at school had contacted his mother to say that Sergio's attention to studies were lagging.
Sergio would go on to studying the management of banks at the National School of Applied Economics and Management. After a few years, though, he had to stop his studies because of lack of funding. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
In May 2013, Sergio left the family cocoon to go live with close relatives in another city of Benin in order to better focus on his true passion – music. After several singing competitions, he participated in more advanced competitions, including "Moule de Stars" and "Grand Concours Talent." In every contest, he was finalist. By 2016, he reached the pinnacle of Benin television competitions, appearing on the finalist show of MTN STAR!
Sergio Snow was not willing to stop there. His is an unshakable professionalism, dedicated not only to being the best in his craft but also to represent the best spirit of his African homeland. Through this desire almost to an obsession, Sergio Snow reiterates his wish not to rush in releasing his first single out to the world. He wants first to push the limits of his voice and to explore all the melodies and styles of the field he loves so much for as long as he breathes – seeking to uncover all the musical elements that will best enhance and suit his style.
This said, his choice to hold back the long-awaited release of his first opus does not mean Sergio has been idle. Indeed this young and speedily up-and-coming star entertains his numerous fans nearly non-stop, regularly inviting them into his lyrical world via YouTube and Facebook, amongst other virtual venues.
